Stupid scammer…

with one comment

Just got a call to my fixed line at home. The other end was a computerized female voice speaking in chinese. It says that I’m required to attend a court hearing on some date(i forgot wtf she said) and after the message’s been played, it’ll keep on dogging me to press number 9. After awhile the messages would be replayed.

Like, yeah, Malaysian court council(whatever shit it’s called) gonna call you, without addressing you in your name, speaking in Chinese(computerized samo) and asking you to press the number 9. How bloody stupid is that?

I would’ve expected a court letter.

Pity, it was a recorded message. Otherwise it would’ve granted me the satisfaction of yelling at the idiot. Bloody fuckface.

*update*

oooh, another fuckface called at 3.30pm just now. Now it’s a company from Hong Kong doing its year end lucky draw. This time it’s a human on the other end. So I asked where did she get my number from. Computer generated it seems…

But I’m pretty sure some company somewhere leaked our number to these scammers, for a price. Bitches.

This is not the first time we got calls like these.  The most convincing one was some man calling my dad, saying he found my brother lying in a pool of blood somewhere after an accident. If not for my brother being being right beside him at that time, fixing his car, I think it would be quite possible for my dad to panic and fall for the scam. Yeah, and luckily my dad has only one son.

Just don’t give out your numbers easily. There are stupid scammers from China looking for preys.

But I wonder how many DID fall for their tricks for them to be able to keep it up for so long.

Humbled

It feels good to be given a helping hand when I really needed one.

And I hope I’ve given enough helping hands to deserve this.

Really.

Sunday morning banter

without comments

It bothers me very much.

I have nothing to write about.

Telling you how my day went means this is an eat, shit, sleep blog. It was an ordinary day but stuffed with fried cempedak, keropok lekor and Bak Kut Teh, by the way.

Writing about current news would need a lot of researching and reliable sources and might just put my 2 readers to sleep. An MCA youth leader was shot dead, point-blank, while waiting at the traffic light junction, by the way. That’s so mafia, don’t you think? It’s the second of such cases now, maybe we’ll see more of them in the future, because assassins imitate each other too.

Thoughts about our government and racial disunity might just put me to jail. Although I didn’t went as far as to make a rap video to put it on youtube. If only I could come up with witty lyrics, get a copy of Negaraku and avoid humiliating my whole family( the whole Lee clan), I might just consider it. But nah….. it’s too much trouble just to deface the country. You see the point or not? The country didn’t suck, the government did, why did he ruin our National Anthem then? And to those people rooting for him, saying how his song spoke their hearts and all those industrial crap, WHY DIDN’T YOU VOICE IT OUT YOURSELF? ANY title would be nicer than NEGARAKUKU. That’s LAME!LAME!LAME!

I happen to like my National Anthem. It’s what I sang for 13 years of my life (plus kindergarten la) every Monday morning. Most of all, it exists for a reason, to be proud of our own country and remind us that this is where we belong.

Just imagine how many kids would giggle to that piece of crap of a song that Namewee so unabashedly posted on youtube. Count your blessings you’re in Taiwan and that I’m not the Agong. I would have personally ordered the secret service (or the Malaysian equivalent) to go to Taiwan itself and kill you off in your sleep.

I believe also that if you want to be taken seriously, there is a proper channel to do it. And if you want to make a complaint about something, provide an alternative solution. If you don’t have a solution, don’t complain. Though I don’t always provide a solution, but those were just about small matters. Then again, I have seldom been taken seriously.

So, fuck it la… it’s just a misdemeanor to some, but I don’t agree with making light of our national anthem to drive a point through. Maybe they should just revoke his citizenship if he didn’t like this country so much. So that the secret service needn’t have to go to Taiwan and find him.

Hmm… there…. I terpesong di.

Yeah, and if I wanna talk about emo-ing stuff and all…… I dunno, it pains me that I have no life but to write emo posts to draw attention. And I don’t like emo people, therefore I try not to emo. Well at least not to show it.

Hmm… seems like I can only bitch about things then. Well ok, here goes.

We all have survival instinct. I’ll understand if you have certain people that you are just ‘friends’ with. People that you see sometimes and will approach if you need something. But you do reciprocate by doing them favours in turn. You do not know of their personal lives, neither do they know of yours. But I get disappointed when people I thought were close to me didn’t think that I’m good enough to trust or to ask favors from. I would gladly help if you have just asked. There’s no need to be scheming and to plan your words, sweet talk, or put me in a plot. If I hadn’t noticed it by then, I would’ve noticed it sooner or later. That I am just a pawn in your game of chess, the thought of it, is disheartening.

But I guess it’s necessary, for your survival, for your peace of mind.

Just try your best to scheme your way through so that I’ll never realize I’ve been used. It’ll at least put my mind in peace too.

Maybe I should be more scheming.

Arggh… damn sleepy. My ass’ numb from sitting on the chair for too long.

Blog Junkie

Once I start I cannot stop.

If the said blog is truly that interesting, that is.

So, today, I’m kinda hooked on this blog.  I particularly liked the post about tolerance. And to think that I’ve always went along with this ‘toleransi’ idea from our sekolah menengah Moral syllabus. Wrong, wrong, wrong.  I felt cheated. They shouldn’t have put ideas like that into our heads.

Now, if only ppl actually think further than what’s required. Like how I wasn’t supposed to just memorize the definitions that came after the word “toleransi” in my moral text, maybe, just maybe, we won’t need to see another checkbox for “melayu”, “cina”, “india”, “dan lain-lain”.

Or is that what they call stretching it too far?

Oh, and hey, this site is cool too.

Nice! *Borat*

Bored.

without comments

Should be asleep.

Instead, was stalking friend’s friends and what used to be friends on friensdter.

And watching youtube videos even though download speed is excruciatingly slow.

Listening to The Cure.

The unfamiliarity serves as a good criterion for background music. It’s just noise, good  noise.

Just realized the stomach feels empty.

Really, this is not an insightful post about current state-of-affairs, world sufferings and  environmental apocalypse.

Shallow….. the mind is shallow like that.

Lisa Simpson must’ve been pissed.

Al Gore would be disappointed.

‘just the matter of  concerning about  what’s decidedly of grave concern is not easy  if one can’t decide.

Then again, all is in vain.

Even if it can be decided, would things turn out as expected?

Would the world be filled with sunshine, flowers and candy canes?

Would the Ice cap melt and drown us all?

Can this post be any more vague?

Apparently, yes.

It’s a horrible thing to be engulfed by boredom and the sense of under achievement.

All at 1.40 am.

Inanity at 1.40

Disappointment.

I would like the streets to be cleaner and safer.

I would like the service people to provide service and not annoyance.

I would like the citizens to be a little more courteous.

I would like my money’s worth when I buy goods.

I would like the administration  people (of any authority) to be more selfless and actually think of us a bit more.  Like, work that bit faster so that people in line won’t be cock-staring you. Because once you get off work, you’re a part of the crowd too.

I believe these are simple things to do.

And I do try to be courteous on my part. But don’t expect me to be understanding when you are working slowly because you’ve had a bad day and all that shit. Because, who the hell doesn’t have a bad day everyday? The more sucky your service, the more people with bad days.  Unbeknownst to you, you  are actually the  catalyst. The home-wrecker, the party-pooper and the Harry Potter to every good thing that has ever happened to this world.

Renewing a J-card is fucking torturous.

I’d rather you call me ‘babi’ than ‘friend’. But don’t overdo it unless you intended to piss me off in the first place.

Take for example, this little message:

“Babi!! How are you doing lately?”

and this,

“Friend, how are you lately?”

The second message will always seem so distant. It’s like putting an obstacle right there, there’s no proximity, therefore neither is there any sincerity.

Not that I enjoy being called ‘babi’ all the time.

But I would also ignore the messages altogether. Like, can you be any more vague? How am I lately? Hmm…… that depends on what you wanna hear, darling.

It’s just small talk, I guess, because I would actually avoid asking that question unless I’m quite sure there is an interesting answer.

Life is not fun.

Life is not fun.

Life is not fun when there is no rush.

The rush to do the things I want to do the way I want them to be done.

I don’t want a regrettable life.
