Running will NOT make a stomach ache go away.

It causes nausea instead.

Funny, but I thought it would. Like how it makes a headache go away.

*bwahahah*

Professor: Don’t get too excited — I’m not putting you into groups. Yeah, I saw you all sitting there, looking around, thinking ‘Which of these fuckers is going to do all of the work?’

As the pictures load one by one, the heartache is undeniable. I can only imagine how it feels to walk the streets with a cause in mind, a noble cause. Soldiering on, knowing that a stray bullet might greet you as you turn the corner.

Blinking HTML Flash pictures of ugly things sent as testimonials in friendster.

Mass-forwarded e-mails that tell you to send it to 100 ppl or more. And if you ever break that chain, God bless you, your house would be burned to ashes in a *poof*.

Same thing with recycled, mass forwarded sms-es. Only one person I know churns out meaningful messages herself. And I have my hats off to her.

Overpriced pseudo-japanese restaurants that serves you local ingredients.

How I could fall down, scrape my knee and elbow, all before the game started. And the only thing I could think of was ”It’s been a long time… this feels good”. But showering with a sore wound is a bitch.

Why after drinking two big cups of coffee, that I’m still yawning in front of this damn screen.

Why I get shifty eyed when talking to ppl. Damn!

The weekend was spent doing a Moral Project in Pahang, in kampung Bukit Serok.

The aborigines were not any different. The kids have access to junk food, watch tv and have plenty of space to run around.

I have no idea why we were there. Our intention was to help them, to educate them and spend time with them. But in the end, I didn’t feel like we made any difference in their lives. Really, it was pointless. Nothing more than a show, to get our marks for our class.

Given the choice, I would rather paint a fence or two. At least I can see that it is newly painted.

The kids wouldn’t even remember what I taught them. I wouldn’t remember their names and frankly, I don’t give a shit if they remembered mine. It was just a chanced encounter, nothing more. Heartless as it sounded, it is inevitably true. And to travel across the Peninsular for this, is absurd. I think there are some aborigines over here on the west side, too.

I hate this habit of coming up with silly programs like these just to proof that something ‘good’ is being done. What kind of shit of an idea is this?

I think they would prefer to be left alone. Thankyouverymuch. Just don’t destroy their natural habitat(home la….home).

Sunblocks are bloody damn expensive.

Sunkist has got some radioactive oranges in my juice.

Nivea deodorant smells good but doesn’t quite work.

Printing pictures cost me and arm and a leg.

Char Siu-Siew Yoke Fan is for people who have grudges against pigs.

Gem biscuits are now in packs. How I miss them (biting off the icing and letting it melt in my mouth). So I bought one.

Nobody puts price tags correctly anymore.

Our skincare brands here are not for Asians.

It’s bloody hot out there.

I don’t like my current hair. (side-part? middle-part? Dammit!!)

And I’m kinda broke.

***update**
I printed passport-sized photos instead of I.C ones.
Damn!!!!!!!
holy mother of all cows. how could this happen?? 10 bucks wasted….wasted….

It’s not that I care a lot anyway.

Am oblivious to what’s happening around me. I need to keep awake more. Damn.

I’ve just realized that reading The Star day day in and day out will not make me more conscious about the shit that’s happening. It doesn’t promote intellectual growth. And their writers are pointless… with appalling English to match(deteriorating anyway). If I didn’t want to learn of the language I wouldn’t even bother to read la…

Well the only columnist I like is one Mary Schneider. But then again(geddit?geddit?), her pieces are no more than meaningless ramblings anyway. Marina Mahathir is trying too hard to make small talk and there’s this wife of Najib who writes just to irritate(to show how fabulous being a datin is la). Chong Sheau Ching(or something) just would not let go. And there’s this old ah pek (’Over a Cuppa’, I think)… he just plain sucks. There, I burnt almost everyone on the block.

They are indulgent. On things that I don’t give two hoots about. Pity.

The People’s Paper konon…

Sensationalizing is one thing, but making little of important things is another.

But basically, I have ambling preference towards The Star because they have better comics la… Calvin and Hobbes mainly. They should consider selling it separately or something.

But there are times when I don’t feel like thinking too much.

I guess The People’s Paper is good for these times.

Merdeka!

Independence Day.

Must be saddening for Tunku Abdul Rahman to see the state of our country now.

In fact, he was sidelined during the last years of his life. A veiled coup d’etat by Tun Abdul Razak. Plotting the event of May13, playing the racism card, and introducing the NEP. It was by scanning through the May 13 book by one Dr. Kua that this piece of information is made known to me. I really wouldn’t rule out this possibility even though it may sound out of this world. But if it WAS true, I have a feeling this book would be taken off the shelves by now.

Those primed and much edited history textbooks of ours were nothing but random and harmless stories for us to memorize, to pass the exams. I guess you would notice by now that there is nothing dark about our ‘history’. Kancil kicking the hunting dog into the river is no way ‘dark’.

The making of a nation could never be so tame, with so little bloodshed. Even Mahatma Gandhi, who was almost a saint for leading India towards independence the non-aggressive way was assassinated.

Forgetting our history is not a way to move forward. Weeding out the problems is. I just hope we won’t keep lying to ourselves.

All the media hullabaloo about how beautiful and peaceful our country turned out in 50 years are just bullshit. The copywriters must be kicking themselves while writing such ads. Everybody knows what’s going on, who are they bluffing?

Again, for fear of spoiling the equilibrium, should we just keep these thoughts to ourselves and wait for the worse to hit us?

I don’t even know whether am I oppressed or not.

“The social contract is essentially a quid pro quo agreement between the Malay and non-Malay citizens of Malaysia; in return for granting the non-Malays citizenship at independence, symbols of Malay authority such as the Malay monarchy became national symbols, and the Malays were granted special economic privileges.”

–From Wikipedia

Is my citizenship worth all these heartache?

It’s not that my privileges were halved, it’s just that theirs were raised.

But I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else.

Mah eyes are bleary.

Commercials on radio nowadays don’t really cut it.

For one… there are the grammatical mistakes. Yes, even when the hunky, supposedly-American voice is the one reading out the damned advertisement. Pseudo-accents surely come with some basic knowledge of the English language, does it not?

Another thing, they are just annoying and don’t really convey the messages as intended. Maybe their intention is to annoy, but why the hell would they want to annoy an already stressed-out driver stuck in a jam?  Sometimes I find myself cursing loudly, when I’m driving alone, at the stuff the radio spew. Am I the only one who does that?

Repeating these advertisements every hour is just making it worse.

But hey… I’m just bitching about the radio here because I was on the road for the better half of the day, today. Like 6 hours. Stuck in the godamawful Merdeka-exodus-jam, is just, the shittiest. It’s only second to the Raya-jam.

And now that I find Bbbb has finally updated her blog, maybe I can sleep well tonight.

Hah.
