Down with insecurity

with 3 comments

Remember once I said I should be more caring towards my friends? That I should show more concern for them and you-know-what-other-things-you-should-do-as-a-friend etc? I’m kinda thinking now that that’s not really feasible in the real life. I have half a mind to abandon mission and just live the way I want right now. It’s tiring, this way. If I really wanna care for that person I guess it wouldn’t be as tiring as this huh?

Because some people are just not worth being nice to. But others, you should hold on tightly, because you will never get another one of those. Like how they say it, they don’t make friends like they used to anymore. I’m sure the previous sentence is more suited to describe cars, but, what the heck. ;)

On another note, did you notice that blogs nowadays are not as emo as before?

Remember fuckstress.blogspot.com? It was good before the owner abandoned ship and let the page turn into a porn site (don’t go there, seriously). Later, I found out that it was Fireangel from fireangelism.com who was behind fuckstress.blogspot.com after all, thought they sounded similar after a while. She’s still good but I prefer the angry her better.

Even Suanie has less to say nowadays and the ever great kennysia is kinda a sell-out now.

I guess nobody can go on ranting fo’ ever.

Sometimes I wonder what am I to others. And even if I’m something, ties can be severed in an instant. But being closed up is not fun at all. Really, maybe I just think too much. Maybe I should just do what I feel like doing and learn my own mistakes.

But it can’t be denied that these problems do get to me sometimes.

I’m on a mean streak today, so just bear with me (as opposed to ‘bare’ with me which pisses me off when I see ppl write it, because I don’t know it was an honest mistake or the poor sod was just being cheeky).

Among the many things that annoy the hell out of me, this is from a real friendster account:

  • About Me:

OBVIOUSLY YOU THINK HIGHLY OF YOURSELF WHEN YOU POUT YOUR LIPS AND TILT YOUR HEAD TO A CERTAIN ANGLE FOR THE CAMERA!! AND THAT YOU <tYpE liKe dEEZ> MAKES ME WANNA REACH INTO THE PAGE AND STRANGLE YOU IN THE 2D FORM!!

when you list out all the criteria for appearance, I start to think that YOU ACTUALLY MIND LOH! And then hor, every pair were of opposites until you reached HandSOme o PrettY. Why? You just choose to ignore the other option which is UGLY ah?

Damn you!!

Today is not a good day to act cute in front of me.

So, shut it!

Useless

I waited two days for you to finish your part when I have already done mine by, yeah, two days ago, with more workload than you. I told you not to make me work on this weekend cos I’m going back for something important, that’s why I took on the most workload, to make sure I AM NOT BOTHERED BY SHIT LIKE THIS for these two days. I told you exactly what I want. And yet…

You give me some pieced-up article mostly copied from Wiki, WITHOUT proof-reading it before sending to me. With all these –>[2] .[citation needed] littering the damned article you’re supposed to come up with yourself. And it’s bloody obvious it’s been copy-pasted because the fonts are different in each part and that you can’t even spell ‘bicycle’ and ‘hybrid’ even with the help of Microsoft spellchecker.

All that, after being told exactly what I don’t want.

Piece of shit.

I damn tulan now.

You’re making me work at 2 in the morning on something I shouldn’t be doing and on day I shouldn’t be doing anything.

I swear I won’t let you go easy.

What I worry about…

without comments

… is not how ignorant the ‘up there’ people are, but more importantly, how Malaysia is being portrayed as.

New strain on Malaysia’s ethnic ties

What I don’t want is some uninformed “report” of how Malaysia is faring.

What I’m  not amused at is how some “Manjit Bhatsia, academic, writer, born in Malaysia but now lives and works in Australia” so simply judge what’s happening here from the other side of the equator.

And what in the hell is this??! –>”Ethnic Indians see Malays enjoy the spoils of political domination and the Chinese reap economic rewards.

If I’m reaping economic rewards right now,  I won’t have so much to diss about in my blog here la….

And not all Malays are “dominating” in nature, you know.

And this…

The decision to tighten visa controls for Indian workers wishing to come here was a message sent on the international stage but to a domestic audience – along the lines of: “Stop what you are doing or we will make life difficult for your friends and relatives seeking to join you”.”

… is just dumb.

Hullo, most countries that are dependent on migrant-workers nowadays ARE tightening visa controls la. Why weren’t they accused of anything like that?

So, does this writer’s country itself want some big chunk of its income stealthily sent back to some ‘motherland’? I highly doubt so.

About why the Indons’ visas not tightened… don’t worry la, the maids get abused all the time and not many of them see this place as the golden land anymore.

I so hate these irresponsible writers sometimes.

The TOP 5 REASONS why I can’t bitch about the current sad state of affairs.

http://teenadvice.about.com/od/teenlifefaqsandqas/a/youthvote2004a.htm

copy-pasted for your convenience:

Why vote? We’ll tell you why…

You live in a democracy and that means that you get a say in who runs your country, and by way of this privilege you also get a say about how your country is run. It is very easy to be blase about your right to vote and take a “whatever, who cares” kind of attitude about it but you shouldn’t brush this great honor off so quickly. Sure registering can be a bit of a chore, and yes, you have to head down to a polling station on voting day to pull your lever which takes some time out of your day and may cost you a few bucks in gas, but whether you know it or not these are very small prices to pay for the right to vote. In some countries people are literally dying to be able to cast a ballot and make a difference. Here, we list five very good reasons that every eligible young person should get out and vote.

The youth vote is sadly underestimated by party analysts.
Yes, it is true, the trend analysts who tell party spindoctors where to target their advertising dollars and public relations efforts traditionally over-look the youth market.

zSB(3,3)

Why? Because the sad reality is that election year after election year the percentage of eligible youth who actually register and vote is small when compared with other demographics. This doesn’t mean the youth market isn’t a force, just that it isn’t a main motivator in the drafting of campaign platforms and pre-election advertising. So, like any self-respecting rebellious young person the natural thing to do is go against the grain and do the unexpected. Keep them on their toes, shock them into the 21st century and get out and vote! The biggest election issues often directly effect the youth of the nation.
The war in Iraq (young soldiers are the ones dying), education funding both public school and post-secondary, employment and job training programs, and reproductive rights issues are just a few of the current hot topics that directly effect the quality of your life RIGHT NOW. Think about the future and the world you will one day “inherit” from the power generation and you can add environmental concerns, fossil fuel consumption, farming and livestock funding (think the food supply is shrinking with every farm that can’t sustain itself) and the list just gets longer. Add any issues that are near and dear to your heart on a personal level and the list becomes a little overwhelming. Don’t vote and you effectively kiss away your ability to have any influence as to how these issues play out in your world, and dude, that’s just lame.

The only way democracy works is if citizens, young and old, are active participants.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, this one is an oldy, but hey let’s face it, it’s also a goody. A government by the people, for the people just can’t work without the people. This is a simple fact. Like a car without an engine, or a computer without a hard drive, a democracy without voters is just a shell and has no power. While it is easy to say “one vote doesn’t make a difference” the reality is that every vote counts… have you heard of Florida? Also you have to remember that as an individual your vote may seem to be little more than a whisper but when your vote is combined with the votes of others who share your views it becomes a voice and the more like-voters there are the louder that voice grows. So get out there and make the youth vote be heard.

If you don’t vote you really have no right to complain about government decisions you don’t like (no matter how much they actually suck).
OK, if there is one thing that is really annoying to us actual voters it is the endless ramblings on the bad political policy of a current government spewing from the mouths of eligible voters who never bothered to cast a ballot. If you don’t vote it is like saying you don’t care how your country is run, so if you don’t care where do you get the idea that you can complain when something happens that you don’t like? If you don’t vote you really have no right complaining about anything the government does and if your like most young people you like complaining and have it down to a fine art. Want the right to complain when TPTB (the powers that be) make a truly heinous decision? Then you must exercise your right to vote.

Bottom line: you should vote because you can.
Voting is a tremendous gift. Believe it or not, young people just like you in other countries actually fight and even die for this right; a right that so many youth in democratic nations take for granted. You should vote because you can, if you don’t you may one day wake up in a country where you can’t. It can (and has) happened. Enough said!

Because I didn’t vote,

didn’t want to vote,

too lazy to go to the post office,

have no confidence in any one of the contending parties.

Therefore, I have no right to bitch if ever they screw the system up in the future.

What?

I AM born here, wasn’t I?

Maybe I can still bitch a little about it.

Rant pOsT!!!

(RUN, FORREST! RUN!!)

okay, to start it off, today was a very long day.

Got up early for a meeting, which was supposed to be at ten, and the group leader said it was canceled… Only after waiting for 20 mins and having me calling him up. Fucker… couldn’t even message me to tell?

Then I had no choice to wait till 12, for my class because to walk back to apartment and all would be bloody-fucking bothersome.

Then it was all uneventful, until…

… it was time for my ‘engineers in society’ class.

Which was taught by an emo-bitch.

The class  was at nine. I had a long day. I wanted to jump off a building right there at that time.

She bloody-fucking took almost 20 minutes to fiddle with the fucking projector. No big deal? IT WAS A 50-MINUTE CLASS!!She could’ve been more prepared right? After the last class which she found that the projector was faulty. And that was only the start of all the shit that’s gonna rain.

She went on and on about being a professional engineer, about integrity, about how uninformed we are and shit like that.  And then 50-minutes was up.

But she went on as though all of the 100 plus students’ time are specks of shit compared to her MOST HOLY THAN THE HOLIEST teaching time. Some students grumbled and cursed, mostly out of earshot, some threw their heads back and rolled their eyes, some fumbled with their stuff making swishing sounds as though they’re packing up to go home, and they did mean to go home. It was a long day after all.

She noticed all these, and the emo-bitch threw an emo fit on all of us. Saying that we should be more respectful, that she’d rather be at home with her family at this time, that this is why engineers in Malaysia are far more inferior, that basically we’re just a bunch of shit. Worst of all…

… IT’S THE SAME FUCKING SPEECH FROM THE PREVIOUS BLOODY CLASS!!

and then she went back to teaching as though nothing happened, blabbering on and on about how we can apply to be a professional engineer.

MHCCBWTFBBQ!!

The class finally ended at 10:45 p.m. A 55-fucking-minutes delay!!

These are the only things I was thinking about while fidgeting:

1. You want my respect, you must earn it. So far, you’re not doing well at all.

2. Who the fuck are you to teach me about being professional when the only thing professional about you is the Ir. title in front of your name?

3. You missed the whole week’s lecture last without posting a notice for us, nor did you finally explain why, when you took on our class for the first time on Monday. Fucking professional, bitch.

4. I’m not going to her classes anymore. It’s excruciating to even be in her presence. Thank goodness her turn’s up in 2 more week’s time.

5. Never have I had such an obnoxious lecturer. All the shit about intellectual discussions were all bullshit to lure you into saying something wrong and her having the gleeful delight to watch you being hung upside down and beaten to a pulp. She’s the worst, worst lecturer Evarrr!!!!111
