Works like a charm
Anyway, I’ve installed a copy of Windows 7. Actually, I tried installing it last month or so, but on another drive and it screwed up my booting sequence. I don’t like that. And I finally got to work to remove the old XP and formatted both drives to install a fresh copy of Windows 7.
At first the graphics seemed a bit laggy but manageable la. And after getting Catalyst Control Centre installed (for my ATI ciplak card), and enabling hybrid crossfire, it became very responsive and my cpu usage when opening any application was greatly decreased. In short, my computer became quite awesome (thanks to almost 2.5Gb of graphics memory at my disposal, bit too much… ya i know) =D
Mmm… maybe I should explain bout hybrid crossfire. It only works on ATI graphic cards by combining on-board graphics processing power with a PCI express graphics card. In short, it is for poor people who don’t want to spend thousands on good graphic cards. Just buy a capalang card for about 100-200 and crossfire with on-board GPU (Graphic Processing Unit) and you’re good to go to play most games. But although i have quite alot of graphic memory, the speed might be a little lacking cos it’s DDR2 and will run according to the speed of the slower GPU. But it’s okay, I don’t game much either. Just find it extremely satisfying that I can click on multiple applications and expect them in .2 seconds muahahha…
Anyway, Windows 7… mm.. can’t say much yet cos it’s only been about 2 days using it. But so far so good, and being a fanciful person, the design and overall fell is quite intuitive and everything is so pretty =D
