Told to ‘balik China’, racism victim demands respect

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 6 — A victim of race abuse, allegedly told to “return to China” by a police officer, today said she had lodged a report against the offender to demand her due respect as a citizen of Malaysia.
“I lodged the report because I want him to respect us, citizens, especially him being an inspector,” said 51-year-old Loh See Mooi today.
On August 24, Loh was allegedly insulted by a police inspector while attempting to lodge a report after having fallen victim to snatch theft.
The inspector was alleged to have uttered “Jika tak tahu cakap Bahasa Melayu, balik China” (If you cannot speak Bahasa Malaysia, go back to China) to Loh, after she had addressed him in English. The inspector had earlier refused to speak with Loh’s daughter, who had accompanied her to the police station then.
“When he said ‘jika tak tahu cakap Bahasa Melayu, balik China’, I simply cannot accept it,” Loh said today
Loh told reporters today outside the Kepong Police Station that such treatment towards her as a Malaysian citizen was unacceptable.
She was at the police station to give an additional statement on her report, here this morning.
Loh today explained that she had waited about a week before lodging the report because she did not know who to turn to, before going to Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng for his assistance.
After relating her ordeal today, Loh advised the police force to have translators on hand to help people like her who were not fluent in the national language.
“I hope after this incident, that such things won’t happen anymore,” she said.

Anyway… sikit-sikit mau kompren to newspaper… I beh tahan these sort of news already ler. Dah lah we’ve just celebrated Hari Merdeka, why must these news sites sensationalized these sort of scuffles?
You know… for every 1 racist idiot, there are 9 more ppl who really feel sorry for them. It just shows how shallow they are and in fact, they are just poor victims of inferiority complex. Like, they wanna feel good by belittling others’ sort of things.
I went shopping today and almost passed out due to stomach ache, and you know what? The guards helped me out by watching my stuff as I spent a gruelling 30 minutes in the washroom wondering if it’s food poisoning, because nothing came out and my stomach hurt like hell(ahahha tmi). The cashier aunty help me buy a bottle of water as I waited at the bench trying not to pass out and kept an eye on me. This just shows how lovely and caring the bunch of people we have in Malaysia.

But hor, the officer… is typical of the police force la… that’s all I can say.
They are the front of the whole police force and yet they cannot just show a little empathy towards the victims who came forward to lodge a report. It doesn’t matter if it’s feigned or not, the victims had been through a tough time so is it that hard to show a little concern? Yes, I know it’s your job and you face this every.single.day… but it will definitely suck for you, if the roles are reversed!
I’m sure this holds true… well, for the better part of my 24 yrs on this place, it sure did:
